Just general Touhou Stuff

I've never played a Touhou game 'cause I never saw the appeal in them. ;A;

^ I didn't really know much about them but I decided to play since you basically unlock a whole different world of amazing music and remixes, beautiful fanart, along with various spin offs and a new fandom.
The games themselves are quite ragefull but it is somewhat an acquired taste, they offer a wide selection of music and unique stages and characters. The boss fights are rape however...
Other people also just like it for the lolis...
Every fandom does have its dark side however... There are plenty of stupid memes and "art" of them.

Touhou is pretty fun~ I have a couple of little figurines of the characters, my neice and I always play with them when she comes over, I'm always Cirno and she's always Reimu. Sometimes we play the actual games, but she just turned 4 so I have to help her, she presses the shoot buttons and I move the character, it works out pretty good. My favorite game is Phantasmagoria of Flower View

You just haven't seen the mindfuck and prettyness they have~
If I wasn't shown the character who held qualities I liked, then I probably wouldn't have looked into the games~
Since we are all Yume Nikki fans here I'm sure you will find some interest in Koishi, the moe manipulator of the subconsciousness~

Every song has like 500000 arranges in each genre of music srsly. And the Danmaku patterns are also very visually appealing. That video was Extra mode so don't feel bad if you are discouraged, since that that is the hardest difficulty.

b-but frogies and toads are all so cute and I love to hold them and they're all squishy and nice!

A bunch of characters aren't human
The band IOSYS makes good techno music for Touhou.

You will really only like Touhou for the following reasons:
1) You are a lolicon
2) You love Ragetardingly hard games
3) You love music
4) You love memes and Fandoms

The music is probably one of the best things about the games.
What I recommend you do is just click through characters' themes in Youtube and just take a listen to see if there is anything you like. While I admitted that Bad Apple was an introduction to Touhou, I was sent a link to Nue's theme and just had to listen to more Eargasmic music from this ZUN character. I don't know if you like dark character themes but you should just listen then jump around to see what you like

I am dissapoint, there are way better things than the Bad Apple video in the Fandom... But you are right about most of the PVs and animated videos since I did spend a lot of time watching them before actually playing the game.



I generally prefer the more serious ones that most of the cute, memeful ones but they are all pretty nice

No way I still will always say that Bad apple is the greatest thing in the world ever.
Overdrive is good too though.
But visually, musically, and artistically, I think Bad Apple is the best touhou thing by miles, and I love all touhou things. I think it is one of the best thing ever. Also, there are so many great covers and versions and stuff!

mhmm i sure love touhou
the games are really fun, but the only one i've ever been able to 1cc is UFO, and even then Nue kicks my butt
all the characters are really fun and cute, and the music is amazing with all the millions of remixes it has
i also am still blown away how all this was created by one man

Won`t persuade you to play, since I myself can`t play both the fightings and danmakus without cheats, but some marvellous facts that will help you become a fan:

1) Fanon is much bigger than canon.
2) It`s so much bigger than you actually become a fan of the whole Touhou Universe than just games.
3) Lots of creatively dressed girls
4) WITH HAAAAAAAAAAAATS!
5) Lots of good music
6) Lots of good remakes of it almost at any genre, to name a few: Sonic Hybrid Orchestra (Sympho-metal), UI-70, Demetori (both - hard`n`heavy), dBu, Dark Phoenix (electronics+rock, proportions may vary), Tutti Sound (Orchestral). I`d post a few links, but there`s a newbie restriction.
7) The original creator and copyright holder doesn`t mind the fans creating more and more doujins, music albums and artbooks FOR SALE at various fests.
8 ) Also, he is an alcoholic.
