Have a silly theory that somehow has enough evidence to support it? Post it here for laughs.

Onsen is a bannik, a bathhouse spirit with a siphon, the toriningen are nothing more than the congregate of women who like to get together and cluck and bawk over petty gossip, KyuKyu is a pole dancer (like the poster before me stated), Mars is a weeping tree, the denizens of the Monochrome Desert are faded memories of dead relatives, and Medamaude is the anthropomorphization of enlightenment, hence the mental notes to record in the journal of dreams afterwards. The various effects are the various bodies one takes in the dream state, the Multiverse. Monoe and Monoko are cousins. Shitai is a car accident. (bestgore.com!) The lotus men are Buddhist priests. The Thing with the Quivering Jaw as well as Leg Vomit Bean Shit Man are the amalgamations the mind makes of the legends of yokai, the folkloric monsters of Japan...

and the whole of Yume Nikki is dream logic....the mind's way of sorting out the things that happen during waking lucidity.

Masada is a real alien, and is using advanced alien technology to probe Mado's dreams, and is attempting to communicate with her. This is why his area is actually smaller, and more like an actual location, because he fabricated it; instead of it being part of Mado's helter-skelter fantasies.

This does not go well because he can't speak her language, and is easly stabbed. 6 ^ 9

I'm actually planning on making a comic based upon this theory. <3

The Kalimba 'People' are the same species as Onsen, you've just got to look at them right.

I don't know if this would count as crack, but it's odd.

Shitai was a hipster before he died.

I mean, look. He wears a sweater over a collared shirt that sticks out underneath. I can totally see him listening to Modest Mouse, munching on organic food and the like.

(my knowledge of the hipster type is very little, because I'm pretty darn close to a hikikomori myself... so please don't be offended or anything. :I)

'kay, well:
(1)If you look closely a Poniko's sprite, she doesn't have normal hands, leading me to think she was in a an accident and couldn't do anything with her hands. Her parents always had to turn her lights on.
(2) Madotsuki had never turned on lights before
(3) Mado was shocked at how lights work, and then she kept flipping the switch until the bulb blew out.
(4) Poniko got mad at her (Aka Uboa) and sent her to time out (The creepy world with the barfing monster)

Madotsuki is depressed, ect. Her father, a concert-pianist, died from drugs/drunk driving before she was born. All she had were pictures of him, making him very distant. (GUESS WHO) One of the monochrome sisters is her mother, another picture.
